About Us
Welcome to Female Wrestlers International Network...

FEMWIN was started in the late 1990s, primarily because our owner and founder couldn't get enough
material from wrestling organizations to continue with his newsletter at the time, titled "Woman Wrestler". He had published 8 issues before
deciding to make his own news by starting FEMWIN. His goal certainly wasn't to make money and even years later the motivation was simply to have a self-funding
female wrestling promotion.
When asked why he got involved with womens wrestling in the first place, he answered: "I've asked myself this many times and I think only recently could I answer this question. First, I
admit that I've always liked female sports and been attracted to athletic women but this isn't the reason for my involvement. I think the main reason
is because I like women to be empowered and don't care about societal norms. Today women's fighting sports are much more common and accepted
but this was not the case before. A lot of people thought women's wrestling was sleazy or pornographic and the thought of women fighting was not
taken seriously. For example, I've always hated the crude remarks from men watching women's wrestling., watch some old pro wrestling videos and the announcers
comments about the women are extremely obnoxious. Also, when it comes to women's fighting sports in general, until recently, almost all men couldn't imagine being defeated
by a women. Even I was shocked how many wrestlers and other fighters could easily defeat me!"
"The fact is that I couldn't care less what society thinks, just like I don't care why men, and sometimes women, come to watch the women wrestle.
The only thing I have cared about at our events is that the women are treated with respect and as a producer I've always tried to be professional with the wrestlers.
I'm sincere when I say we have always tried to help the wrestlers promote themselves but I must admit that we could do a much better job of this. The fact is that i
was simply too busy. I'm a consultant for international business and market development but now I'm semi-retired and have the time to commit to FEMWIN."
